Boston’s Run To Remember Announces 2007 Race Date
|
Race organizers have announced that Boston's Run To Remember will take place on Sunday May 27, 2007 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
This event has experienced tremendous success in just two years with over 7,500 participants in 2006. The continued growth of this event combined with the unpredictable March weather was a large factor in moving to Memorial Day Weekend. In 2005, a weekend snowstorm nearly cancelled the inaugural event.
Memorial Day weekend is a perfect time for Boston's Run To Remember. The warm and sunny weather will maximize the beauty and speed of this course while allowing organizers to integrate more elements of the Seaport district from harbor cruises, restaurants, concerts and more.
May is also National Law Enforcement Month as both nationally and locally fallen law enforcement officers are remembered for their sacrifice. Additionally, Memorial Day weekend is the official kick off to summer when funding for Kids At Risk Programs is most at need.
"Memorial Day weekend both functionally and symbolically is the perfect time for Boston’s Run To Remember. The spring weather will further enhance the beauty and speed of this amazing race course while May is a more appropriate time to honor our fallen heroes” said race director Tony Pallotta.
Boston’s Run To Remember is a half marathon and 5-mile race being held at the Seaport World Trade Center Boston on May 26-27, 2007. Proceeds of the event benefit Kids At Risk Programs throughout the City of Boston.
