IMPORTANT NOTES:

Volunteer check in is held primarily inside the Seaport World Trade Center near the front entrance, with the exception of a couple of water stations throughout the course. Please contact your team captain to determine where your water station is meeting.

 

Ample surface lots are available within a few minutes walking distance of the Seaport World Trade Center Boston for a nominal fee. We encourage carpooling with fellow participants.

 

We strongly recommend parking in lots south of Seaport Blvd. Parking lots on the waterside of Seaport Blvd. are within the racecourse and will not re-open until the race is finished. Public transportation is also encouraged.

Title:  Packet Stuffing

Location:  Seaport World Trade Center

Description:  Pre-Race Packet Stuffing – Help us put together all race packets for runners. We will have fun with music, food and awesome door prizes.

Location:  Various locations in the World Trade Center

Description:  Variety of tasks including; set up of expo area signage, set up kids area, set up all tables and chairs for stage area, loading box trucks for Water Stops and other tasks as assigned.

Title:  Kids Activity Area & Fun Run

Location:  World Trade Center Expo Hall

Date:  Saturday, May 27, 2017

           08:00 AM - 01:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 03:00 PM

Description:  Register child participants and supervise “Kids Fun Run”. Must have experience working with kids as either; teacher, day care, or kid's camp counselor.  Experienced face painters needed. Also need responsible individuals to monitor children and their safety in the bounce houses.

Description:  Set up and serve water and/or Gatorade to runners at the specific water stations throughout the course. Water Stop Volunteers are to meet at the World Trade Center Seaport at 4:45am for coffee, donuts and instructions.

Title:  Finish Line Water Stop & Hot Day Overflow

Location:  World Trade Center Finish Line area

Date:  Sunday, May 28, 2017

           06:00 AM - 11:00 PM

Description:  Set up and serve water and energy food to runners at the conclusion of course, inside the World Trade Center.  High temperatures may require race course recruitment if an added water station is needed.

Title:  Finish Line Medal Distribution

Location:  Finish Line

Date:  Sunday, May 28, 2017

           07:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Description:  Finish Line Medal Distribution. Cheer on the runners as they finish. Distribute custom finisher medals. Assist troubled finishers. Provide finish line runner support.

Title:  Cleanup / Race Breakdown

Location:  World Trade Center Expo Hall

Date:  Sunday, May 28, 2017

           10:00 AM - 03:00 PM

Description:  Breakdown of all race and expo items. Load up into the tractor-trailer.

 # of volunteers need: 30

 

 

 

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN:

Volunteers should report to the volunteer check-in area no later than the time listed for their assignment.

 

At volunteer check-in you will receive your t-shirt and attend a brief (5-10 min) informational session before you begin your assignment. At this session, you will receive detailed instructions as to your responsibilities and tour the area where you will be working.  You will meet your Team Captain and have an opportunity to ask questions.

 

VOLUNTEER TIPS AND GUIDELINES:

Please stay in your assigned area. This is important in order to serve the runners in an efficient manner and as best we can.

 

Dress casually and prepare for unpredictable Boston weather with layers. Please wear your volunteer t-shirt at all times as your outer most layer of clothing. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.  Bring Sunblock and/or a hat if you are working a water station along the course.

 

Please do not bring any backpacks or valuables with you to your assignment. All bags are subject to search by security personnel or authority of the town your volunteer job is in. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Also, please do not bring pets. Please note—no bags other than clear, plastic bags will be allowed inside the Seaport World Trade Center on Race Day.

 

This is a healthy, athletic event – all volunteers will be required to obey the NO SMOKING rule.
